Crusader's New Women's Health Center

The Women’s Health Services department provides well-woman exams, cervical cancer screening and follow-up, prenatal care, and gynecologic services.

Well woman exams include appropriate screening tests such as pap smears and clinical breast exams. Referrals are made for mammograms, when appropriate. Healthy lifestyle choices are addressed.

Pregnancy and delivery services include routine and high-risk prenatal care, ultrasound, non-stress testing, education, low-cost prescription medication, social service support, Spanish translation, and labor and delivery care.

Gynecologic services include contraception (birth control), diagnosis and treatment of pelvic pain, assessment of menstrual or hormonal difficulties, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted disease (STD), and assessment of bladder control problems.

Crusader Community Health physicians delivered over 1,000 babies during 2006, which represents approximately 25% of all deliveries for Winnebago County. In 2000, Crusader Community Health was recognized for having the lowest rate of low birth rate deliveries among all community health centers nationwide. Since this time, Crusader has continued to achieve low birth weight outcomes that are better than national and state levels.
