$95,299 Grant To School-Based Health Center

Crusader Community Health has been awarded a second year grant of $95,299 by the Dr. Louis & Violet Rubin Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNI). Total support, $200,000, from the CFNI helped to fund the Crusader Community Health Auburn High School Campus School Based Health Center (SBHC) which opened in September 2014.

Gordon Eggers, President & CEO, Crusader Community Health, noted, “The health center, the largest school-based clinic in Illinois, has as its primary goal to improve students’ health and to minimize their time away from school when they are sick. It could mean the difference between a day or more away from school and merely hours away from school. We are grateful to the CFNI for their generosity and commitment to Crusader, the SBHC and its potential to help students move toward healthier lives while they strive for academic excellence”.
