Health Education Services for Crusader Patients
A variety of learning resources are available to help you better understand and manage your health and that of your family.
Our team of Health Educators can meet with you on a one-one-one basis to address your questions about diet, nutrition, and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Just ask your Crusader healthcare provider to make a referral to the Health Education Team!
Each month group education sessions, led by our Health Educators, are held to discuss diabetes management, healthy eating for children, and healthy weight loss for adults. Our Diabetes groups address topics such as the importance of good control, balancing meals and snacks, monitoring blood sugar, and taking medications. Healthy Eating for Kids covers topics such as healthy snacks, breakfast tips, and picky eaters. Our Healthy Weight Loss for Adults touches on safe weight loss, portion control, mindful eating, and meal planning. For more information about our health education groups, including the times and locations, call 815-490-1650.
Written and electronic resources are available to provide health information on health-related topics in English and Spanish. To learn more, call 815-490-1650 or come the Cosmopolitan Learning and Resource Center at the West State location.
We look forward to helping you on your health journey!
