Shelton Kay, VP Community Relations, Crusader Community Health

Crusader Community Health, Vice President of Community Relations, Shelton Kay, received the Ramona Lopez Community Health Center Employee Award at the Illinois Primary Health Care Associations Annual Leadership Conference on October 16th. Mr. Kay joined Crusader in 1993 as a case manager for the Living with HIV program. He became the manager of the program in 1998, and was named the Director of the Community Service Division in 2005. Based on his remarkable leadership, he was recently named Crusader’s Vice President of Community Relations. 

His commitment to the underserved is unparalleled. He works to ensure his team of medical providers, nurses, case managers and outreach workers are meeting the needs of patients and improving access to the quality of care for some of Crusader’s most vulnerable patients. He is a beacon of light to patients and clients who often face very dark times. Gordon Eggers, Crusader President & CEO, notes that, “Shelton Kay is the glue that holds Crusader, their patients and the Rockford community together”.
